Anyone who fancies a change from standard UK/US and more lately Scandinavian detective fare might like to check out Inspector Montalbano. BBC 4 is showing ‘Montalbano’s Croquettes’ at the moment. It’s on iPlayer (http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00g6hqn) and also at 23.20 this Wednesday. I’m a bit of a fan and particularly enjoy the Italian-ness of it all: the importance given to food, the Sicilian scenery and the very slightly non politically-correct attitude to women.
