Capena has a wireless hotspot round the back of the town hall above the marketplace. Instructions, taken from the Province of Rome website, are as follows. Unfortunately you only appear to be able to do this with an Italian mobile number. Anyway, for what it’s worth, here are the instructions.
To use this service, first register.
This can be done on-ine at: https://wasp.provinciawifi.it/servizio/registrazione/ or directly from an access point.
Fill out all sections of the electronic form, provide us with a valid phone number and an active email address.
Once you have completed the registration system, make a free call from the mobile phone number given at the time of registration, after a few rings the call will automatically be cancelled, a server will verify the contact and allow you to choose a password of at least 8 characters and numbers.
Your user id will be the phone number you provided when registering.
Then just go to one of the areas marked on the map provided with a laptop, a smart phone,or any other device with a WiFi interface. The device will detect the wireless network”ProvinciaWIFI” and you will see the authentication page after launching the browser to surf the Internet,.
If you have already registered with the system, simply enter your login details to start surfing.
If you lose your password, you can retrieve it by following the procedure on the authentication page.
The ProvinciaWiFi network allows you to surf the Internet for free with a daily limitof 300MB of total inward and outward traffic.
